When faced with press reports of knife crime and antisocial behaviour taking place in our area one can feel overwhelmed and powerless. Anti-social behaviour can blight people’s lives and I receive numerous letters from people concerned about what is happening in their area.

Elizabeth opens the new trojan centre in Thetford

Elizabeth opened the new Trojan Centre in Thetford. The Trojan Centre is the new facility for the East Anglian Driveability. It is the region’s only accredited mobility assessment centre where a purpose built track incorporating a ramp, uneven surfaces and challenging corners has been constructed to offer enhanced facilities for training.

This year has been a bumper apple crop, apparently due to the cold winter. Eating my way through pies, crumbles, fritters and pancakes has been the highlight of the September calendar. Being an MP is very well suited to a keen food hunter although I do get strange looks from fellow travellers as I hop out at yet another roadside stall to buy more great figs, sweetcorn or plums.

Elizabeth comments on news about FSCS

Elizabeth today said on hearing the news from FSCS in relation to Keydata: "I am delighted to hear the news from the FSCS today that Keydata investors will receive compensation. I will be working to ensure that affected constituents receive what they are due as soon as possible."

Elizabeth hosts a Business Forum in Thetford

Elizabeth today hosted a Business Forum at Warren Services in Thetford. Attracting companies from across South West Norfolk, Elizabeth discussed with the local businesses what measures they would like the government to take in promoting enterprise and innovation. Elizabeth also focused on Norfolk’s infrastructure and the proposed Local Economic Partnerships (LEP).

Elizabeth meets with the Financial Services Authority

 Elizabeth joined other Norfolk MPs in a meeting with the Financial Services Authority.  The discussion focused on Keydata Investment Services, which went into adminstration last year.

Elizabeth meets with Transport Minister about A11

Elizabeth met Theresa Villiers, Transport Minister responsible for trains with other Norfolk MPs Brandon Lewis, Norman Lamb, Richard Bacon and George Freeman.  The meeting topics included the franchise retendering and the importance of dualling the A11.
