Truss maintains pressure for upgrade of key rail junction

Elizabeth Truss MP today said that she is committed to ensuring the upgrade of the Ely North junction will take place as soon as possible. Commenting on today’s announcement by the Transport Secretary that the DFT is reviewing the rail investment programme, Elizabeth said she will emphasise the economic benefits to the region the upgrade will bring.

Elizabeth said ‘I am meeting the rail minister next month to discuss the Ely North Junction. Along with my fellow MPs in the region we are keen to ensure the works progress as quickly as possible. The economic benefits to East Anglia are tremendous and this is the message I will make to the rail minister.’
