Liz Truss MP gets ready for a Christmas feast

Festive delights are well and truly on display as local MP Liz Truss collects her Christmas goose from JW Sargeant’s Butchers in Stowbridge on Saturday 22 December. Liz has nominated Sargeant’s in the Countryside Alliance Awards ‘Rural Oscars’ in the best local food category. Next year will be the 100 year celebration of this family run butchers who source quality beef, pork, lamb and poultry. Along with their new look shop plus great condiments, preserves and pre-prepared goods, this rural business is going from strength to strength.

Liz commented ‘Fantastic food is all part of the Christmas celebrations and JW Sargeant’s certainly add the festive cheer with their wonderful range of locally sourced produce. I have nominated the butchers in the Countryside Alliance Awards, and along with CoCoes Café in Swaffham, The Kings Arms in Shouldham plus the Village Shop in Garboldisham, these are all up for nominations in the ‘Rural Oscars’. Across South West Norfolk, the hospitality industry is going from strength to strength and the wonderful Christmas spirit is in full swing at places like the Bedingfeld Arms in Oxborough, Browns in Mundford and Biltons in Downham Market, all offering wonderful service, great food, ensuring customers keep on returning - Norfolk really is the place to be for a very merry Christmas!’
