The forty-fifth monthly report from Elizabeth Truss MP updating residents on her activities.
Elizabeth has been appointed Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. In Parliament, Elizabeth answered questions at Defra Oral Questions.
 
As Secretary of State Elizabeth visited the CLA Game Fair and the Royal Welsh Show. With the Prime Minister sheannounced plans to make it easier for schools and hospitals to buy high quality, local produce.

Elizabeth is pleased that Norfolk is to receive an additional £18 million for the county's schools. The money forms part of a £390 million pot that the Government has given to the least fairly funded areas in the country.
 
Schools Minister David Laws MP has received a letter from Elizabeth in support of new capital funding for Downham Market Academy. She also met parents and children at the Mythical Maze Summer Reading challenge at Thetford Library.

Elizabeth is pleased that New Anglia LEP has secured the money for a number of significant projects in Norfolk, including £6.5 million to develop a new Higher Skills Centre at the College of West Anglia and funds for sustainable transport in Thetford for 2016/17.
Elizabeth met the Highways Agency to discuss increasing opportunities for local businesses from the opening of the newly dualled stretch of the A11 this Autumn.
Elizabeth held a meeting with NHS England and representatives from GP Surgeries in Swaffham to discuss patients who have been deregistered from Watton Medical Practice. She has subsequently written to the Secretary of State for Health about this issue to ensure patients have access to a local doctor.
Elizabeth visited local business Martin Reynolds Construction and saw how they produce modular buildings. She also visited the Timbers Hotel in Fincham. She met Pete Waters of Visit Norfolk to discuss tourism to the area. Elizabeth also visited the Downham Market Horticultural Show. 
Elizabeth has appeared in the Sun, the BBC, the Times, the Telegraph, the Guardian, the Daily Mail, the Lynn News, the East Anglia Daily Times and the Eastern Daily Press. She has appeared on ITV Anglia, Heart Radio, KLFM and BBC Radio Norfolk. Elizabeth was also a guest on the Daily Politics on BBC2.
