Elizabeth's Monthly Report August 2014
The forty-sixth monthly report from Elizabeth Truss MP updating residents on her activities.
Elizabeth has raised with Roads Minister John Hayes and the Department for Transport the importance of a commitment to the full dualling of the A47.

Southery Parish Councillors, Norfolk County Council, residents and the manager of British Sugar’s Wissington factory joined Elizabeth at a public meeting to discuss HGV movements through the village.

Elizabeth welcomed the confirmation of half hourly train services on the Kings Lynn to London line from May 2017, and has encouraged the new train franchise Govia to bid for funding to install wifi on their trains.

Elizabeth met fishermen in Scotland to discuss Russia's food export ban, and attended a meeting of the EU Agricultural Committee in Brussels. She also announcedthat the Government would accept all the recommendations of the Elliott Review, including the establishment of a new Food Crime Unit.
Elizabeth visited Banham Zoo and spoke at an event in Westminster to discuss the zoo’s plans to develop a new wildlife-based science discovery centre with other UK zoos.
As part of the Brecks Food Festival Elizabeth joined Scotts Field Pork on their Walk the Pork event near Oxborough. 
Elizabeth attended a public meeting for parents of children at Iceni Academy, with the headteacher.
Elizabeth at the reopening of the community-owned King's Arms in Shouldham. 
Elizabeth met members of the Thetford Society at its annual meeting and saw the Kenninghall Morris dancers and the Bake Off competition at the Thetford Festival.
She also met Anna Graves, Chief Executive of Breckland and South Holland District Councils.
Elizabeth visited the war graves at Marham Cemetery with Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
Elizabeth celebrated the reopening of West Norfolk’s first community-owned pub, the King’s Arms in Shouldham. 
Elizabeth has appeared in the Eastern Daily Press, the Lynn News, the Swaffham and Watton Times, the Thetford and Brandon Times, the Downham Market News, Signpost magazine and in the Times, the Telegraph, the Guardian, the BBC and the Daily Mail. She also appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.
