· Wednesday - Great Cressingham, Mundford and Meet the Candidate in Weeting.

· Thursday- West Walton, Hilgay and Southery.

· Friday - Downham Market, Stow Bedon, Thompson, Great Hockham and Shropham.

· Saturday - Downham Market, Swaffham and Thetford.

· Tuesday- Walsoken and Marshland St James.

· Wednesday - Wretton and Downham Market.

· Thursday- Thetford, Kenninghall, South Lopham, North Lopham, Blo' Norton, Garboldisham and Meet the Candidate at Banham.

· Friday - Marham, Emneth and Upwell.

· Saturday - Downham Market stall and canvassing.

· Sunday - Downham Market Churches Together Hustings.


Sunday 18th April 2010

Elizabeth Truss and her team have been out and about campaigning this week:

· Monday - Oxborough, Foulden, Cockley Cley, Gooderstone and Downham Market. Met local residents at Upwell Parish Assembly.

· Tuesday- Hockwold, Northwold and Riders are Voters Question Time at Tottenhill.

· Thursday- Business forum in Thetford, Larling, Roudham, East Harling and Meet the Candidate at The Crown, Outwell.

· Friday - Downham Market and Thetford Mayor Dinner Dance.

· Saturday - Swaffham.


Sunday 11th April 2010

Following the election being called for May 6th - Elizabeth Truss and her team have been out and about campaigning:

· Tuesday - Campaign launch in Thetford, Swaffham and Downham Market.

· Wednesday - Outwell, Upwell, Emneth, Watlington, Mundford, East Harling and Thetford.

· Thursday- Swaffham and Elizabeth spoke at the Breckland Conservative Group Meeting.

· Friday - Downham Market and Stoke Ferry.

· Saturday - Thetford and Wretham.


Monday 5th April 2010

This week Elizabeth:

· Met GPs at the East Harling GP surgery.

· Went on patrol with the Downham Market police.

· Visited the Swaffham Poultry Auction.

· Met local residents in Magdalen and Marshland St James with Henry Bellingham MP, where roads and planning were high on the agenda.


Friday 26th March 2010

This week Elizabeth:

· Spoke at coffee meeting in Stow Bedon, where we discussed education, apprenticeships and the economy.

· Addressed the Women in Business Lunch at Thetford and then went to a talk about Boudica's history in the town.

· Visited Swaffham Community Hospital.

· Will be meeting residents in Swaffham town centre to talk about local issues.


Friday 19th March 2010

This week Elizabeth:

· Met Inspector at Downham Market Police Station to hear about rural crime, changes to Norfolk Constabulary and drugs policing.

· Discussed Thetford issues and national economic policy with local clergy, business people, councillors and education leaders.

· Spoke at the East Harling Conservative Women's Luncheon.

· Will be meeting residents in Thetford town centre to talk about local issues.


Friday 12th March 2010

This week Elizabeth:

· Met residents in Downham Market and discussed issues including the economy and welfare reform.

· Spent the morning at St. Martin's at Shouldham Primary School observing lessons and seeing the outdoor garden complete with chickens.

· Spoke at the meeting of the Watton branch of the NFU at the Thompson Chequers which also covers part of the South West Norfolk Constituency.

· Visited Woodlark Farming in Methwold, a major indoor pig producer.


Friday 5th March 2010

This week Elizabeth:

· Met residents in Swaffham campaigning in the town centre.

· Spoke at a public meeting in Garboldisham where there was a discussion about the fiscal deficit, welfare, education and immigration.

· Visited Easton College, the Royal Norfolk Showground and the Eastern Daily Press in Norwich.

· Participated in a breakfast in London with the Chief Executive of Network Rail Ian Coucher, where I raised improvements to Norfolk services.

· Attended South West Norfolk Conservative Association dinner with Jeremy Hunt MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, where we discussed rural broadband, amongst other issues.


Friday 26th February 2010

This week Elizabeth:

· Campaigned in the centre of Thetford and also spoke at a coffee meeting in the town where we discussed GP services, the role of Parliament and education amongst other points.

· Attended campaign meeting with West Norfolk councillors in Watlington.

· Attended Norfolk farming conference which discussed farm management, the future economics of farming and the role of government.

· Held discussion meeting in Sporle; issues raised included dualling the A47, GP services and apprenticeships.

· Will be leading a politics class at Methwold High and at the South West Norfolk Association AGM too.


Friday 19th February 2010

This week Elizabeth:

· Spoke to local Conservatives at the Swaffham Branch Supper Club.

· Visited businesses in West Walton in the timber framing and nursery industries and discussed issues including elected police commissioners, local government and education with residents.

· Discussed Conservative policies for increasing apprenticeships with Research Department in preparation for skills workshop with businesses along the A11.

· Is holding a campaign team meeting with Breckland councillors in Great Cressingham.


Friday 12th February 2010

This week Elizabeth:

· Held Constituency Campaign team meeting in Downham Market to agree plans for the four weeks in advance of the likely election date on May 6th.

· Devised campaign plans with the Thetford team at the Conservative Club.

· Met Parliamentary Candidate for West Suffolk to discuss cross-border issues, especially dualling the A11.

· Discussed welfare, education and immigration with Mid-Forest residents and Conservatives in Cockley Cley.

· Met Light Dragoons and local school pupils renovating the new Meet-up Cafe in the former Redcastle Furze Community Centre in Thetford.


Saturday 6th February 2010

This week Elizabeth:

· Discussed plans for the future of Thetford with exhibitors, councillors and local residents at Moving Thetford Forward exhibition at the Carnegie Rooms – in particular plans for reviving the town centre.

· Met the UEA students union in Swaffham where we talked about better links between the university and businesses in South West Norfolk and higher education funding.

· Attended Welney meeting with Christopher Fraser MP to discuss the closure of the A1101 with Parish and District Councillors and officials.

· Spoke about our General Election campaign at the AGM of the Harling and Heathlands Conservative Branch.

· Held Campaign Action Morning in Downham Market, hearing concerns and ideas of local residents.


Thursday 28th January 2010

This week Elizabeth:

· Discussed Conservatives plans for increased apprenticeships and future of Train to Gain budget with Downham Market training company Anne Clarke Associates.

· Attended the Conservative Group Meeting of the West Norfolk and King’s Lynn Borough Council.

· Confirmed support for older people and pledged that Conservatives will retain the Winter Fuel Allowance in the Watton and Swaffham Times, the Thetford and Brandon Times and the EDP.

Tomorrow I will be visiting Methwold High School and meeting headteacher Denise Walker.


Friday 22nd January 2010

This week Elizabeth:

· Spoke at business dinner at the Hare Arms, Stow Bardolph.

· Saw Art at Guildhall and local businesses in Thetford with Christopher Fraser MP.

· Discussed Norfolk-wide issues with Chloe Smith MP.

· Listened to Wiggenhall St Germans Parish Council discuss flood sirens, road maintenance and the proposed Post Office.

· Met school pupils from Rosemary Musker at Warren Services Open Day.

· Engaged with County Councillors at Conservative Group meeting in Norwich.


Friday 15th January 2010

This week Elizabeth:

· Met the Town Centre Manager, Town Clerk and Brecks project team to learn about plans for Thetford and increasing tourism in Breckland.

· Attended a meeting with Norfolk Council leaders to oppose Labour's plan to impose a unitary authority in Norfolk.

· Discussed cross-Norfolk issues with Keith Simpson MP.

· Visited the sugar factory at Wissington.


Thursday 7th January 2010

This week Elizabeth:

· Met councillors at Breckland Council to discuss the power gap at the industrial site in Snetterton.

· Discussed the problems at Denver Windmill with the tenants and looked at the interior of the Mill.

· Visited Denver Sluice and received a briefing from the Environment Agency about the flooding on the Welney access road.

· Met with the Conservative Culture Media and Sport Team to discuss rural broadband and local TV for Norfolk.
